Insulation performance of rock wool

The more fiber strands there are, the better the prevention of insulation performance decline! We will introduce insulation performance by temperature range.

The insulation effect of "rock wool" is demonstrated by the fact that over 95% of its volume is occupied by air, which is separated into fine gaps by fibers, making it difficult for the air to move. As the temperature of the air within the rock wool rises, it becomes more active, leading to a decrease in insulation performance with the increase in ambient temperature. However, the higher the density, meaning the greater the number of fibers per unit volume, the more resistance to air flow increases, preventing a decline in insulation performance. "Roxceram" is excellent in fire resistance and can be used as an insulation material even in high-temperature areas of around 400°C, making it widely utilized under harsh conditions such as in plant equipment.
